Exfoliative Keratolysis.

I have posted before how I have struggled with the cycles of this problem. Since using the Urea cream method of treatment as described in my earlier post, I have had fewer outbreaks. The cause of those outbreaks, however, is still undetermined.

Enter Ketosis. I had an outbreak of both hands when I started my keto diet. I used the Urea creme to treat it and it has quickly begun to fade.

I have no evidence yet, but I wonder if the removal of sugar and grains has helped too?

I don’t have an answer yet, but we will use this post to time the dormant period until the next outbreak!

Keto teeth?

Hi, has anyone noticed an improvement in the health of your teeth?

The first 2 weeks, my teeth seemed to get really scaly on the backs, like an outbreak of plaque. But at over 3 weeks, my teeth feel much smoother. The plaque build up is disappearing, and my teeth are whiter. That at least is my perception.

I had noticed the smoother feel, but not the whitening until my spouse asked me if I had gotten a whitening kit from the dentist.

Hate the Sin

Don’t think for a moment this is about money. You can post all the Viagra statistics you want.

It’s best if we all just admit what this is all about.

The truth is, those that hate, or fear, or loathe, or feel disgust, or feel that they have been forced to accept something that galls them, or accept something that is against their personal religious beliefs, those people are now in power.

Those people simply don’t feel that America has progressed to this point, they feel that America has degenerated to this point.

Remember that.

Trans people, I am sorry. I am sorry that you have to suffer under the new regime, but this is just the beginning.

If you do not sleep with the right sex, if you do not wear the right clothes, if you do not worship in the right church, if your skin is not the right color, if your bottom line is not six figures, if you cannot afford health care from your own pocket, you are going to suffer.

They will use our newly minted marriage licenses to find us and single us out. They will make hate OK. They will stir large crowds with big sticks, urging them to “Make America Great Again”. Those people will suffer too, they just don’t know it yet. Their rights will be taken away, but they won’t care, because they will be whipped into a frenzy of “Hate the (insert your favorite group to hate here)”, and they will make whatever sacrifice is necessary to Make America Great Again.

For those in power, it’s time. It’s time to go back in time, to 1952 where America was White, Christian and Male.

Although this has nothing to do with how much money we spend on Trans people in the military, the sheep following the wolves will believe it does. They will be instantly resentful that our country, their hard earned dollars, are spent on any queers in the military. Homosexuals in the military need to now beware because the ignorant do not differentiate between LBGTQ, they only know Queer, that the next step, once the hate is fully ingrained, is kicking the queers out too. If you are a queer in the military and think, “They can’t/won’t do this to me”, look around your unit. They accept you because they are told to. They will reject you when they are told to. That’s what they are trained to do.

Friends, this is not about money, and it never was, it is about hate.

Stuck like Chuck

Oh my. I had forgotten just how nauseous Savella makes me. Feeling dizzy too. Wow, I really am struggling to keep it together!
Here is a question. Normally, I would have a cracker and ginger ale, or a slice of bread to settle my stomach. What can I have that’s keto friendly?

I haven’t missed bread much, so haven’t felt compelled to make any keto bread, but maybe I should, at least for moments like this.

I did not eat any breakfast, just Bulletproof coffee. I made it without HWC today, just in case dairy might upset my stomach more.
I’m at work and deadlines won’t let me go home, so I think I’ll take a few minutes to go lay in the car.

Day 13 of the keto diet (171.6 lbs)

I had a man explain to me on Facebook last night that the diet was keto not Keto and that it didn’t matter what you ate as long as your macros are intact. He was one of those nice fellows whom everyone in the group adores and defended vehemently when I suggested that eating grains was not in line with a keto diet. The group follows him because he is a nice guy that tells them they can have grains and rice and ice cream on their keto diets. Anyway, he browbeat me until I quit the group.

The group was helpful at times when I had a question, but it was also frustrating with the number of people asking “Can I have this chocolate cake?” or “Can I have Pizza on Tuesday nights and not get kicked out of keto?” (as if it were a club). It was obvious that 80% of those that started asking questions had never read the intro material provided by the group’s admin. I looked for another group and found one more suited to my age, but haven’t heard back from them yet. I’m not sure that I need one anyway since my situation is so unique.

The Fibro gets harder and harder to deal with. I am drinking one bulletproof coffee and one 5 HourEnergy every morning to try and get fog lifted to get through the day. My focus is almost gone. I am still holding out hope for the keto diet. After I become fat-adapted (after 3-4 weeks) keto dieters have energy and mental clarity. If the keto can drown out he Fibro maybe I will too. I have every finger crossed for this.

If not…I am going to talk to my doctor about Memantine (Namenda) for the fog. If that doesn’t work….well, then we may be talking disability. I fear my cognitive ability has reduced to the point of not being able to do my job much longer.

I am also thinking of adding these two supplements to my diet.

  • Omega-3 fatty acid
  • Acetyl-L-carnitine

I also used to take Savella. I am going to start taking it again tomorrow. I remember it really helping long ago, but my stomach became intolerant of it, so I stopped. I’m willing to try the stomach again..anything to lift the veil.

Another recipe

Keto Cheesecake in 2 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 Tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp vanilla
  • 2-4 Tbsp sugar substitute such as powdered erythritol or stevia (mix two or more for a better flavor)

Combine all ingredients in a 1.5 cup microwave-safe bowl, and whisk until smooth. Place in microwave and cook on high for 90 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds to remix ingredients. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Excellent topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream, or a homemade low carb chocolate sauce. (Count extra carbs if additions are made).

Nutrition info per one-cup serving. Calories: 300, Fat: 27.6 grams, Carbohydrates: 2.5 grams, Fiber: 0 grams, Net Carbohydrates: 2.5 grams, Protein: 11 grams.
