Runner’s World has a Keto Diet Article I wanted to share.
It’s all stuff you have heard from me before, but if you are interested in Keto and you’re an athlete, it’s good basic info.
Wow, I think I have been really missing out!
Let me explain.
I never run in the wee hours of the morning, unless it’s training day with the group.
I run at night when I get home.
That can be 8 or 9 in the evening. Not a big deal in the summer, but you know what they say, “Winter is Coming”.
Winter evenings in this part of Texas are not a big deal as far as the temps go, as we rarely get close to freezing, but it does get dark.
Even temps and darkness are not what hold me back and what keeps me running at night.
The reason I run at night is, exhaustion.
When I get off work, I am tired. I get home and do mom things and wife things and dog things and after all this ‘adult-ing’ all day long, I am worn out.
That’s when I run. When I’m done, I can take my worn out self to bed and I am done for the day!
This may have been my greatest mistake.
Today, because I schedules, I had to run int he morning. I woke at 4, anxious about something, tossed for a while, then decided to run. I hit the road at 5, was done by 5:50 and jumped on the day!
I mean jumped on it!!
Wow, where did all this energy come from?!? I feared by running so early, I would fall asleep on the way to work, but no, energy abounds.
It’s 11:20 in the morning as I write this and I have been full of energy all morning.
Head is clear and I feel focused.
I truly hope this feels this good every day!
I’m can’t wait to run in the wee hours of tomorrow morning!!!!

I run with a reflective vest when it’s dark, my spouse insists!
I also run with a little common sense.
Why would you dress in all black clothing to run in the dark, even with your flashy vest thing? Is she in stealth mode? What happens if her batteries die?
Ever glance at your phone while running, then try to see the sidewalk?

About 2 years ago, when I was deep in a fibromyalgia flare, I was cleaning out boxes and I found a box of race bibs from running events and triathlons I had done when well.
It hurt to see them there. I cried a bit, and I threw them away.
I regret that. I thought I would never get better. Seeing them, remembering pain free days, hurt me. I lost faith in wellness.
I am going to make new memories, new race bibs.
A new life.
I dont know how long this remission will last, but I’m going to squeeze everything I can out of it!
This week continues to get better.
I’m going to write a full post tomorrow, this is a quickie.
Fibro pain is still gone. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but so far, so so good.
Training is going well and I’m slowly improving. I have been so sedentary with fibro for so long, my muscles need strengthening. Normally, days of activity lead to days of payback and fatigue. Now activity seems to fuel more activity!
My personality is changing too. I laugh at silly things again. I enjoy music again. I feel better, and it’s starting to show in the little ways of life. Little joys as so easy to appreciate when you dont hurt.
